The WSOP 2007 Winner is a 39-year old psychologist has won the coveted first prize bracelet and $8,250,000 in prize money.
Jerry Yang originally qualified for the $10,000 buy-in event at the 38th annual World Series Of Poker in Las Vegas, by playing a tournament at his local Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California, which cost him $225. Then at WSOP he has been winning since the event began on 6 July, finding himself at the final table on 17 July. With eight other players he lasted through 16 hours of play to emerge as the winner at 4am on 18 July. Married with six children Jerry plans to give 10% of his winnings to three charities. He is relatively new to Poker having only started playing two years ago, but throughout the tournament he kept a photo of his family by his chips to remind him of whom he was playing for. He did work at the ‘A Coming of Age’ Foster Family agency in Moreno Valley, but who knows what will happen now he’s the WSOP 2007 champion and $8m richer!
